Roxanne Howe-Murphy, Ed.D.
Veteran Enneagram Coach, Teacher, Author

Beyond all of my education, training and professional experience, it is my faith in the capacity of the human spirit to urge us toward manifesting our highest gifts that inspires me.

Roxanne Howe-Murphy’s personal mission is to awaken, inspire, and deepen the highest nature and Essence within each person by focusing on healthy adult psychological and spiritual development. She has dedicated much of her prestigious career as a university educator, veteran executive and life coach, teacher and author to helping others embody their inner authority and enliven greater self-and other acceptance.Beyond all of my education, training and professional experience, it is my faith in the capacity of the human spirit to urge us toward manifesting our highest gifts that inspires me.

roxfaceHowe-Murphy earned her doctorate from the University of San Francisco, her M.A. from San Jose State University, and her B.A. from the University of Iowa. She is certified as a coach and Riso-Hudson Enneagram teacher. She directs the Enneagram Institute of the San Francisco Bay Area, an affiliate of the acclaimed Enneagram Institute, a global leader in Enneagram studies. She is among the first generation of teachers authorized to offer workshops created by Don Riso and Russ Hudson, preeminent Enneagram teachers and authors.  She is also among the first to receive the designation of IEA (International Enneagram Association) Accredited Enneagram Teacher.

In 1997, she founded LifeWise Learning Institute which offers executive and (mid)life coaching, workshops and training programs for coaches and other professionals. She also is on the faculty of the Core Strengths Coaching Program at San Francisco State University. She continues to contribute to print and online magazines and is a sought-after speaker.

Roxanne taught for over 20 years as a university educator at San Francisco State, San Jose State and Boston Universities. In this role, she taught dozens of interrelated undergraduate and graduate courses in leisure (the understanding, expression of, and abuse of freedom individually and in culture, the relationship of work and leisure), leadership, wellness and the delivery of services to individuals with disabilities. She co-authored an internationally adopted textbook, contributed a dozen leading edge articles in professional, juried literature, served as an editor for professional journals, gave numerous keynote speeches and presented hundreds of workshops and conference sessions to professional groups.

In her ground-breaking book, Deep Coaching: Using the Enneagram as a Catalyst for Profound Change, Roxanne integrates her wealth of personal and professional experiences and the wisdom of the Enneagram. She speaks directly to coaches and other professionals who work one-on-one with clients – providing an orientation, processes and tools they can use to help their clients transform their lives. By getting to the “heart of the matter,” coaches and their clients can work together from a place of greatly expanded potential.
