Coaching Executive and Professional Women

in Transition

Faith

When you’ve come to the edge of all the light that you know, and the next step is into the darkness. You must remember that one of two things will happen…there will be ground to walk on, or you will be taught how to fly. ~ Patrick Overton

This poem has inspired me for decades, for it speaks to all the edges in our lives, that exquisite point of contrast between the known and unknown. Sometimes we are forced to make a change due to life circumstances. Sometimes we experience this “turning point” as a temptation to stay where we are (as if that were possible) and the yearning of our soul to move toward something new, even though we don’t have a clue as to what that means.

Leading from the Inside Out

Women leaders who come to me long to experience themselves as whole, authentically confident, and  real–’at home’ in their own skin.  Most professional women have given so much to their careers, and perhaps their families, that they feel a strong sense of loss around themselves.  They may have excelled in their work, but have less confidence in just being themselves.  Perhaps you felt you didn’t have the time to focus on yourself in the past or thought it was selfish. But now you are discovering the many costs of leaving yourself out of your own life.   If you are to lead–working effectively with people, making wise decisions, providing vision and inspiration, and showing up with presence and integrity, you aspire to do so as a whole woman, bringing all forms of your incredible talents and intelligences to life.

Whether you are stepping into a vast new level of leadership or stepping out of long-time leadership, what could be more important than having yourself ?  And if you also are entering or in the second half of life, you are being called to live your life, knowing and loving who you really are.  There is much to discover!  Allowing yourself deeply into your own life is central to fulfillment in every arena of your existence, including how you lead.

I am the author of Deep Coaching and the founder of the Deep Coaching Certification Program, a pioneering approach to coaching that integrates leading edge human-development technology with enormous heartfulness, intuitive knowing and depth of understanding.  I teach my work to growth-oriented professionals (like coaches, therapists,  and others).  What does that mean for you?  One of the key themes of Deep Coaching is supporting you in discovering, claiming and integrating the various aspects (known and unknown) of yourself, supporting you on your journey to your greatest health, love of life, effectiveness and fulfillment.   I know that women who experience these qualities in their lives are unstoppable in whatever their calling is.

Deep Coaching integrates the Enneagram into our work together.  I have never known of or experienced a more profound doorway into self-knowledge, and the pursuant psychological awakening and spiritual maturation that comes from this knowledge.

One of my clients called our work together “Spiritual Chiropractic.”  I use that term to convey the processes we use together so that you experience the relief and joy of being aligned within yourself, as well as with your life’s work.  Indeed, this is soulwork.

Grow Into Your True Self: Conscious Adult Development

“I hired Roxanne as my personal coach in December 2005 and have worked with her monthly since then. Roxanne has been instrumental in helping me along my personal path of growth and development. Roxanne calls forward the best in me. She creates a safe, loving, unflinching space for me to discover and obtain what my soul yearns for. Roxanne calls forward the wisdom of body, heart and mind so I am a more integrated person with greater access to my own sources of wisdom. With great affection, I highly recommend Roxanne Howe-Murphy.”

How do you know what to listen to, what to believe? where to put your time and energy when there are so many things wanting, even demanding your attention? What to do with the distractions in your life? How to cope with the mind-boggling changes?

One of the foundations of Deep Coaching is the acknowledgement that as human beings, we have amazing opportunities to continue growing and evolving into our true nature. One of the reasons that successful professionals are drawn to personal evolution work is that they at least suspect that there is much more to life than they currently experience.

It’s true: just as there are stages in the development of children, adults also experience various developmental stages of growth. At each stage, there are certain tasks that need to be navigated to help prepare for the next stage of life.

How would you know that you are entering or already in your ‘next stage of life?’ Are you noticing some of the following?

  • changes in your mind and body;
  • a sense of loss;
  • an awakening inner voice that persists;
  • your usual ways of being in the world are just not working for you anymore;
  • a spiritual hunger, a yearning for wholeness and a desire to do something more meaningful with your life;
  • fear of making a change;
  • a sense that there is something else you are being called to–you’re just not sure what it is.

Does this sound like you?

Life is a Paradox

What you learned about life in your early years is typically not the way life really works.  Those patterns of life learned early on are not sustainable as a leader or as a person. It’s time to tap into Universal Laws that you can use on behalf of your higher good.

The old belief that “I’m supposed to ‘have it figured out’ by some magical age never takes into account the dynamics of external change, and one’s internal transition. As part of an evolving universe, you have opportunities for creative, conscious living that have never before been so important and so available. So, let’s dissolve the cruel myths that obstruct you in living YOUR life and doing the Work that you are meant to do. Allow yourself to be a participant in the great adventure and the deep mysteries of this unfolding life.

Every life experience offers the opportunity for spiritual insight and spirit-based choice.

What the Enneagram has to offer you

You have been so focused on doing well in your multitude of roles in life, and put so much effort into “keeping it (hmmm–what is ‘it?’) all together,” that you may come to recognize that you don’t really know you. The Enneagram introduces us to ourselves in unexpected ways. Most people say that the Enneagram has helped them make sense of their lives for the first time. As the Enneagram points the way to what has been hidden within, it also brings to your awareness that which is possible as a whole and fulfilled human being. It helps you remember that which is Essential, Eternal and Sacred, and to integrate your deeper knowings into our day-to-day life. It supports you in living with greater presence as you move into the realization of what has meaning and joy.

This, then, shapes our work together.
